Queen Alexandrine (Alexandrine of Mecklenburg-Schwerin)

Alexandrine of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1879-1952), consort of King Christian X of Denmark. Eldest child of Friedrich Franz III, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna of Russia (a granddaughter of Tsar Nicholas I and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna). Married in 1898 in Cannes, where her family often stayed on account of her father’s health. Had two sons, the elder of whom ascended the Danish throne as King Frederik IX. Became Crown Princess of Denmark in 1906 and Queen consort in 1912.
