Queen Sophia (Sophia of Nassau)

Sophia of Nassau (1836-1913), consort of King Oscar II of Sweden and Norway. Youngest child of Wilhelm, Duke of Nassau and his second wife, Princess Pauline of Württemberg. Married in 1857 and had four sons, including the future King Gustaf V. Became Queen consort of Sweden and Norway in 1872. Engaged in extensive charitable work, founding the first institution for the training of nurses in Sweden, and was deeply religious.
